FatPort to use US National DSL Provider Covad
October 28, 2002, Vancouver, BC - FatPort is pleased to announce an agreement with Covad whereby Covad will provide the DSL backbone
for FatPort's high speed public wireless Internet services. The agreement allows FatPort and our US channel partners to deploy US wireless "hotspots" using
custom built FatPoint wireless hardware quickly, easily, and affordably.
"We are excited about the opportunities that the Covad nationwide DSL network will bring to FatPort. We have had numerous inquiries with regards to deploying
our FatPort Complete solution in the US and this new relationship with Covad allows us to expand there easily and cost effectively. We are now able to deploy Internet
access at various points in public locations in the US including cafe's, hotels and airports," states VP of Business Development, Michael Kuhlmann.
The FatPoint intelligent access point is designed for easy installation. Based on the industry standard 802.11b Wi-Fi technology, location owners only need to
plug the device into a Covad DSL line supplied by FatPort. FatPort handles all sales, marketing and support allowing the location owner to focus on their core business.
Location owners benefit enormously by having FatPort installed resulting in increased customer traffic and loyalty.
FatPort will make its debut to the American market at CoffeeFest 2002, which will be held in Seattle Nov 8-10th, 2002.
