FatPort Launches Wireless Hotspot at The Westin Resort & Spa in Whistler
January 19, 2003 - Vancouver - FatPort, an Ignition Point Company (TSX:IPN), announced today that it has completed a high speed wireless network installation at The Westin Resort & Spa in Whistler - the first FatPort location in Whistler.
The Westin Resort & Spa, a member of the world.s largest luxury hotel network, is FatPort's first installation in Whistler. Guests are provided high speed access in the hotel public areas including the lobby, FireRock Lounge, and Aubergine Grille. FatPort's custom-built FatPoint hardware uses industry-standard "Wi-Fi" (802.11b) technology, which operates at speeds up to 40 times that of other wireless internet technologies.
