FatPort welcomes Ben Yan to Board of Directors

January 24, 2005 - Vancouver BC - FatPort, Canada's oldest Wi-Fi company, is today delighted to announce the addition of Ben Yan to its Board of Directors effective immediately.

Currently the Managing Partner of Chasm Management Group (CMG), Ben brings extensive experience and expertise mentoring sales and marketing strategic teams focused on technology and software solutions. Starting his career with Abbot Laboratory, Ben gained experience in several divisions - giving him a head start into the business world. From there, he worked at Sun Microsystems managing the deployment of systems for Government Business Units. From Sun, Ben successfully led Hewlett-Packard's drive to become a dominant player in the natural resources, forestry, and financial service sectors. Following that, Ben became the All Business Channel Manager, managing distribution, VAR and reseller channels until becoming Strategic Alliance Manager, where he managed relationships with KPMG, Ernst & Young, and Deloitte among others.

No stranger to the startup environment, Ben has had 2 successful entrepreneur ventures. Co-founding GT Group Telecom, he watched it grow into a $1.2 Billion venture. The second venture was in 2002, when Ben orchestrated a reverse take-over of Municipal Software in Victoria. The market value of that company is now at $17 million.

"We are very pleased to be welcoming Ben Yan, and his impressive skill set to the FatPort Board of Directors," states FatPort CEO, Claudia Ng. "Ben's will help bring new direction and strength to the company."
